I heard about this café on Manchester confidential two months ago and then saw Jonny's photo on yelp. I had always wanted to try it out since it's the first ever coffee house in Chinatown.
It's located on princess street, a corner of Manchester Chinatown and next to the back of Manchester art gallery. It was managed by the owner of the hair salon next door.
I went on a Saturday afternoon before some shopping in Chinatown. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon. The light came in through the big windows and reflected on the clean blue furniture inside the coffee shop. It's such a small but cosy place. The tone insider is clean, simple and relaxed. They have a wide range of freshly baked cakes varied from chocolate, French macaroons, peanut butter brownie, and rocky road to sponges etc. The beverage selection includes most popular coffees, teas and funky cold soft drinks.
I had a flat white with an orange &almond cake, which was £3. It was a great deal for a coffee and a lovely cake. They have their own roasters and the coffee was strong and aromatic. There was no fancy presentation on top of the coffee but the taste was pretty decent. The cake was spot on. I do not like the heavy sugary cake much (yeah, I know) and this cake was moist, melting in the month and rich in flavour.
It's a very chill out place and it's perfect for relaxing after shopping in town or before meeting someone for dinner in Chinatown.

This place is super cute and tiny. My friends and I decided to stop in a tea shop in Chinatown while visiting Manchester. We had their FLAT WHITE COFFEE & the SALTED CARAMEL CHOCOLATE CAKE. The cake was not too sweet and very well made. I believe it was the owner that served us, who was super friendly and attentive. ENJOY!
